Eye Twitch

I first remember getting the eye twitch in college during final exams.

Its back!

I get this every time I work too hard. Its pretty annoying. It's as if I have a short circuit or something!

I suppose it is one way for my body to tell me to get more sleep :)

"More sleep" is a possibility. But please consider "less stress". Eye twitching is neurological and each of us manifests stress physically in different fashions. For me it's back spasms. Stress can quite literally kill, cf. karoshi. Take a walk with your lovely family, have a beer, do five rounds in the octagon, whatever it takes.

I just started a new job in China. I have been having poor sleep at night due to the hard beds and the noise of the city. Also the change of lifestyle combined with the stress of a new job has my eye twitching out.. Maybe my bodies telling me its had enough..

Many factors can cause eye twitching, stress is probably number one. For a very detailed analysis of the causes and treatments of eye twitching, check out

I always had twitching eyelids when it comes close to the exam period, but they usually disappears after the tests are over. I think its mostly related to stress and (excess) caffeine and nothing really to worry about.

You know the Chinese believe that if your right eyelid twitches, its a sign of good luck and if its your left eyelid that twitches, its bad luck. Just something to chew on. :)

I get an abnormally rapid eyelid twitch which last for about a year before and it is actually diagnosed as one of the symptoms of Tardive Dyskinesia (neuroleptic medication-induced repetitive, involuntary, purposeless facial muscle movements).

And I actually get it finally and totally cured through treatment administered onto the "He Gu" acupuncture point of my right hand.
